Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready.
(Revelation 19:7)
Almost twenty years ago the Holy Spirit charged me with a very specific assignment, “make ready a people prepared for the Lord” (Luke 1:17, Malachi 4:5-6). Since that time the Lord has spoken to me on various occasions through simple poetry, The Wedding is one of those poems. The rhyme is simplistic, yet the words contain a clear warning for the world – Jesus is about to return for His Bride – and we are closer now than we have ever been. Prior to His return, chaos, confusion and spiritual darkness will be rife upon the earth, yet the Bride of Christ will have been waiting, watching and preparing for the coming of her Bridegroom. She will not be caught unaware. Because of her deep love for the Bridegroom, the Bride will maintain a standard of holiness and purity so that Christ might find her radiant - without spot or blemish (Ephesians 5:25-27, Revelation 19:7-9). Any person who has surrendered their life to follow Jesus will be part of the Bride. It does not matter what your past holds - every person on the earth is invited to be part of this celebration. All it takes is a willingness to love Jesus with your whole heart and to live your life according to His commands. I invite you to find a quiet place to read the following poem aloud and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to your heart! A great celebration is about to take place - hope to see you there!
The Wedding
The wedding’s getting closer
Christ is coming for His Bride
He is calling forth His people
And there’s no place safe to hide.
You can sense the wedding jitters
In the people far and wide
For the wedding’s getting closer
And there’s no safe place to hide.
The wedding’s getting closer
And there is no sense of ease
There is much to yet accomplish
So, we’d best be on our knees.
We are past the point of planning
Many lamps have grown quite dim.
The Groom is coming closer
Are you ready to meet Him?
The wedding’s getting closer
You can feel it in the air
Major change now overtakes us
Those unprepared are running scared.
But the righteous remnant watches
For their coming Lord and King
As the wedding grows much closer
Can you hear them as they sing?
“Oh, the wedding is upon us
The day is now at hand
Come, awaken with Your Spirit
Those who sleep throughout the land.
We have hungered and we have waited
It’s almost too much to bear
But the wedding is upon us
And the Bride must now prepare.”
